Pregnancy is the most anticipated event by a woman. But nowadays it seems like this does not hold true for most women. The statistics of teenage pregnancy is rising all over the world. With this comes a generation of unwanted pregnancy with mothers bitterly trying to get rid of a life growing inside them. Teenagers are getting bolder by the minute. They are out partying and looking for adventure. It is their right, of course. But then most of the times they forget that every action they do has its consequence. This free spiritedness is what worries these teenagers' parents. This means they have to be constantly on the lookout for signs of either drug use or early pregnancy. It is probably safe to say that after accident, pregnancy of their teenage daughters comes next in line of every parent's worst nightmare. Having a pregnant daughter at 15 or 16 is definitely a big challenge to parents. The fact that first and foremost it is the teenage daughter who is suffering most from this must always be considered. Looking at the bigger picture, parents are also within that sphere of worry, fear and uncertainty. The teenage daughter is not going through the experience alone. Teenage pregnancy introduces the young mother to very great responsibilities. A teenage mother would now have to learn many previously unknown tasks to her. She may consider strange things are happening to her body but this must not worry her too much. Most of the times, it is the parents of teenage mothers who get to relive the stage of motherhood, only this time, they are not the ones with child.
It is good to know that at times like this the parents, especially mothers, are present to support their teenage daughters and mothers-to-be. Many teenage pregnancies are abruptly cut short due to the child's fear of bringing home the news to their parents. When this happens, the unborn child suffers the most.
After a few months, priorities will change and this will be too drastic a change for young mothers that parents' support is most welcome during this time. |
