Get Pregnant and Fast!

Written by babymaking.co.uk

Some couples are having a hard time conceiving and having their own baby. Little did they know that it's all about the right lifestyle, right diet, right timing and some even says right position! So here are a few must-knows for increasing your chances of conceiving soon.

First of all, if you are planning to get pregnant, prepare yourself to nourish a baby inside you. Make sure that your body is ready for conception. This is to prevent abnormalities to develop in your future baby and have a healthy pregnancy. Start eating foods full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Taking supplements designed for pre-pregnancy or pregnant woman may also help. Folic acid and iron supplements are the primary supplements you need.

If you're really determined to have a baby, cut the habit of smoking or drinking alcohol. There had been researches proving that these vices can cause infertility to both men and women. Cigarette smoking can give an alter effect to a woman's cervical mucus (it helps the sperm to reach the egg). While in men, smoking can affect the ability of the sperm to swim fast thus making it impossible to reach the egg just in time before it dies.

Do the calendar method also known as the rhythm method. Keep a planner or simply use your mini-calendar. You have to mark the day when your menstrual period starts and ends. You also have to record how long your monthly period lasts. Take note of your cycle for several months. If every month, you have the same length of periods, you may be able to forecast your ovulation. For women having a regular cycle of 28 days, they are more likely to ovulate 14 days after their latest period started. However, this is not advisable for women having irregular cycles. Factors that affect ovulation may cause the day-counting to be inaccurate.

If you have a regular cycle and can anticipate your next period, check your cervical mucus few days before your menstruation. Usually, the vagina will discharge a clear and slippery substance (almost the same consistency of raw egg whites) before ovulation. This is a distinct sign that you are about to ovulate and it's time to hit the sheets with your husband.

Speaking of which, we all know that making love is the basic of baby-making. However, when a couple is hoping for a baby in the soonest time possible, it somehow feels like a chore. Therefore they end up having sex just for the sake of trying to conceive rather than enjoying it. Studies show that women who achieves orgasm gives a suction effect that makes the cervix attract the sperm into the vagina quickly. Moreover, couple should create an environment that would make the sperm survive longer. Avoid using vaginal sprays and artificial lubricants. These chemicals would decrease the survival rate of the men's sperm. Nevertheless, trying to make love every day would not increase your chance of getting pregnant at the soonest time possible. Not only that it could be draining to both partners but men are more likely to have a marginal sperm count that is why most doctors suggest couples to make love every other day.
