Age and Pregnancy

Written by babymaking.co.uk

There are many factors that can affect the chance of a woman getting pregnant. Some of which are lifestyle, health condition, and age. Yes, you read it right; age too can affect your possibility of getting pregnant. We cannot stop time from ticking and so does our birthdays. The younger you planned to conceive the less chance you are prone to miscarriage. With every age range, there are pros and cons on the woman's part. So before you stop taking those contraceptive pills or before you buy some more contraceptive pills, here are a few facts on conception whether you are on your 20's, or 30's

This is your 24th year of existence and you feel like you wanted to have a baby by this time. Being in your 20's is the greatest time to get pregnant. Luckily, during this stage, women's body is prepped for pregnancy. You may also get pregnant easily and can still have succeeding kids if you like. The peak of a woman's fertility is usually on her 24th to her 27th year. By this time, the egg cells are still in their fit shape making you less likely to have a baby with genetic abnormalities that would cause different birth defects. Aside from having a healthy pregnancy, once the baby is out, you are still physically fit and can function properly in the entire role you must play as a mother. You can still wake up at the wee hours of the morning, chase your children in the park, and have enough energy for more years to come. However, there are also flaws in getting pregnant in your 20's. You need to choose between a professional career path and your career as a mother. Financial status is a very important subject when it comes to family planning. More women having children by their mid-20's are also prone to behavioral problem because they are not yet ready to have that sacrifices for your children. You still lack parenting skills, patience and emotional preparedness.

Some consider being in their 30's is the best time to settle down and have a family of their own. Just like in 20s, there are also advantages and disadvantages if you are deciding to have a baby by 30s. As a woman increases in age, the chance of being pregnant decreases. The risk of having a miscarriage slowly rises so as the carrying a baby having birth defects or Down Syndrome.

So it is best if by early 30s (from 30-34) a woman should already conceive. But don't be dismayed. There are also the positive side for this. By 30s you and your partner are probably more financially stable, emotionally ready and more matured compare to women getting pregnant in their 20's. Although you have less vitality than those aging from 24-29, you still have more endurance than that of a woman in her 40s. Moreover, you have already established a career and contacts that you can easily get back to after your pregnancy and can still have fun with your kids.
